New Author Introductory Package

We understand that many authors are on a fixed budget and need to keep their costs down. Yet, with the ever-increasing competitive nature of the publishing world, ensuring that your manuscript receives more than a cursory glance by the submission editors has become more important. One of the things that editors look at is whether the manuscript is grammatically clean. Does the narrative read easily, are their punctuation problems that present themselves early on in the manuscript? Are the sentences structured to affect the reader and delivered with strong, active verbs, or is the author’s writing style more tentative?

The NEW AUTHOR INTRODUCTORY PACKAGE allows new authors the opportunity to see whether their work is close to being ready for the publisher’s submission editor to scrutinize your manuscript. As the name of the package implies, this editing service is an introduction to how editing might benefit you toward reaching your goal of publishing your work.

What the author can expect from the New Author Introductory Package:

1) A comprehensive edit of an initial portion of your manuscript – the first 20 pages of your novel (enough to plan for the rest of the manuscript).
2) A constructive commentary and review of your story concerning style and substance, storyline, character development, continuity and more.
3) Once the author finishes his or her rewrite they may resubmit it for the editor to review the changes to ascertain if they effectively answered the questions posed during the editing service or if the same problems persist or new problem arose during the rewrite of those 20 pages.

We designed The New Author Introductory Package to enable you to gain a quick understanding of the editing process and to determine if you wish to go further. You can then decide whether you need more work with the editor, or if you can implement the changes without any further assistance. Our fee for the New Author Introductory Package is $125.

We use the following Editing Styles:
